Oregon driver educators will soon be equipped with a deck of “Rules of the Road for People who Bike and Walk” thanks to
the Oregon Department of Transportation. Bringing driving instructors up to speed on bike law is a great way to start
young drivers out with an accurate understanding of what it actually means to share the road with road users other than
motorists. Big thanks! to ODOT Transportation Safety Division!
ATLC has partnered with Cycle Oregon and the Portland law firm, Swanson, Thomas and Coon to
produce an Oregon bicycle and pedestrian traffic law card deck. This is a deck of 50 Oregon specific
traffic law questions. Each question concerns either bicyclists or pedestrians and their rights/duties
as road users.
ATLC will be launching its nationwide traffic law app this July. It offers all 50 states and DC.
All questions are animated with state specific answers. It can be played as a game or used
as a quick reference traffic law guide. There will be a special introductory offer for only
$0.99. Look for it on the Android market.
Animated Traffic Law Center, Concordia University and Oregon Department of Transportation Safety Division
have partnered to develop a video game to help 3rd graders learn crosswalk safety.
Space monkeys have invaded planet earth in search of the big banana. The result?
They have eaten all the yellow school buses. Everyone is in panic and all the school
children must now walk to school. How will they get rid of all those space monkeys??
The game will be up and running by September 1, 2011. (maybe sooner)
